WTA is my go-to as a DMV wedding planner. Their bands are held to a high standard by management, and it shows. Talented, of course, but also professionally dressed, communicative and flexible. Spectrum, Onyx, Sound Connection, Millennium, just to name a few. You really cannot go wrong within their roster.

The live band experience at our wedding truly changed the vibe and pulled everyone out on the dance floor. We had so much fun with Onyx! Just wanted to let you know how FABULOUS Onyx was on Saturday at my wedding at the Hay Adams. They managed to keep EVERY guest on the dance floor for 2 hours straight. They nailed the music selections and respected the timeline. My clients and their guests had the time of their lives. I worked with Onyx at a wedding last month and they absolutely crushed it for 2+ hours, keeping the couple and the guests dancing the entire time. And not only that, but working with them on the ceremony music, the cocktail hour playlist, and the PA needs throughout the night was seamless.

There are countless decisions when it comes to planning a wedding, but choosing Onyx for our wedding band was by far one of the best decisions we made. From the easy and clear communication with the band manager to the insanely talented members of the band, we are so happy and grateful to have had Onyx perform on our special day. Onyx is the best band! Onyx surpassed every expectation that we had! Our Wedding band was probably the highest priority on our list during wedding planning and we could not be any happier with choosing Onyx! We saw Onyx at a showcase and saw all of the positive reviews online and were really excited to have them play our wedding – we were blown away by the evening! We had Onyx play at our wedding on 12.17.22 and they completely exceeded our expectations! The band immediately had the crowd going! They were interactive with us and our guests! They put on our cowboy hats and sunglasses we handed out, pulled us on stage, came out into the crowd and made us feel like we were at the coolest concert! Amazing experience! We wanted an amazing live band for our Nov. 10 wedding, and Onyx MORE than delivered!!!! They kept the dance floor full all night long, and they learned 3 new songs for our special dances. Exceeded all Expectations — WTA and the band 'Onyx' were a critical part in making our wedding reception so special. My wife and I still can't believe how incredible the band was. We had high hopes based on the very positive interactions we'd had with Washington Talent during the booking process, and while reviewing the band's extensive set list, but it's hard to get the true sense of a band's performance from a small teaser video and old cellphone recordings on YouTube. Onyx is the best wedding band in DC — Onyx provided the soundtrack for our wedding reception in October 2025, and we are incredibly happy with this decision. Multiple guests at our wedding said that Onyx was by far the best wedding band they had ever experienced! We really appreciated our opening conversations with David in the planning process, and they clearly listened to our requests and were very flexible to fit into our schedule of events. We asked for crowd engagement, and they gave it to us with multiple horns on the dance floor and singers interacting with guests! And the quality of the sound and the music itself was so fantastic that we had several wedding crashers who specifically said they were drawn in by the music (thankfully, they exited when we asked haha). Amazing Night — We love live music and we wanted a great band that could play songs that would give everyone a smile and get our friends and family both singing and dance at our wedding. We hit a home run with Onyx. All that night and for days after, we've received compliments about "our band". They were terrific in every way! Very easy to work with, a huge song list, great male and female vocals, fantastic musicians, and they have a great delivery and stage presence. Onyx engaged easily and positively with us as bride and groom, and they both engaged and interacted well with our guests, and this ranged from aged 15 to 85. Best Wedding Band EVER — I just want to take the time to write a review for Onyx Band - they are truly the best wedding band out there! I’ve been to many weddings with bands and my top priority for mine was having amazing live music. Onyx did not disappoint! Onyx is incredible — Having Onyx perform at our wedding was one of the best choices we made! We still get compliments on them to this day, with everyone raving about their energy and sound. Onyx........GREAT!!!! Band — This band showed us there energy right from the Showcase. We put our deposit down on the spot. Dave Cohen, the lead for Onyx, was super professional and very helpful with our timing and song selection and even our personal requests. The band was there on time and ready to go and captivated our guests from the bride and grooms entrance to the very last song. All of our guests asked where we found them and declared them the best wedding band they had ever heard. They were super responsive to our guests and literally kept them dancing until the very last song. Onyx is the best — You will not regret choosing Onyx for one of the most important nights of your life. It is hard to evaluate wedding bands in advance, because it's difficult to picture how they will be and sound in the 'live' setting. So just trust me - these guys know exactly what they are doing, whether it's engaging the room, MCing the reception, delivering a great sound, or getting folks on the dance floor. Onyx wedding band-- AMAZING — We hired Onyx through the Washington Talent Agency. When we went to the band's 30 minute showcase we were standing up dancing within a couple minutes-- and they brought that same energy for our entire wedding night. They knew how to keep the dance floor popping and everyone complimented us on how great the band was. Fabulous, amazing and awesome were the three main words my guest used to describe the band ONYX! They were incredible. My husband and I only had one goal and that was to have every one dancing. We contracted with Washington Talent --through Chuck-- for ceremony music, extra strings , the band, Onyx and specialty lighting for the reception rooms. We found this company to professional and very easy to work with. Chuck was available by phone and e-mail and very knowledgeable about his products. We hired Onyx from Washington Talent for our wedding day. They were absolutely fabulous! Still almost a month later.. everyone is RAVING about how fabulous they were! Washington Talent has an amazing group of people working for them. They are extremely responsive, helpful and willing to do whatever it is you'd like for your event. The band Onyx was absolutely incredible and totally made the night. They had everyone, and I mean everyone (even people we didn't think would get up from their seats) dancing, the entire night. We were married on 11/7/09. We were referred to Washington Talent by a mutual friend. Washington Talent helped up throughout the entire process. Through them, we hired a band called Onyx (which is the best band in town), and a photographer named Jack Hartzman (also the best in town). Washington Talent helped us find professionals for hair, makeup, lighting, etc. They are the "one stop shop" for a really great wedding. Needless to say, our wedding was fanstastic and we would not hesitate to use them again or refer them to our friends.
