Photography has been part of David Hartzman’s life from the very beginning. Growing up in a family deeply rooted in the event industry, the Hartzman name has been associated with photography throughout the DMV since the 1980s. As the son of renowned photographer Jack Hartzman, David developed an early appreciation for the art of capturing moments that matter.
David began honing his skills in his teens and early twenties while working alongside the talented team at Washington Talent Agency. Immersed in the fast-paced world of weddings, mitzvahs, and special events, he quickly learned how to anticipate moments, work effortlessly with people, and deliver images that feel both authentic and timeless.
After establishing a strong foundation, David spent seven years in Denver, Colorado, where he continued refining his craft while embracing the mountain lifestyle. When he wasn’t behind the camera, he could often be found snowboarding, camping in the Rockies with his dog Luna, or exploring the backcountry in his fully outfitted Toyota 4Runner.
Today, David brings that same adventurous spirit and trained eye back to the DMV event scene. His photography blends technical precision with a relaxed, candid approach—capturing genuine emotion, vibrant energy, and the unique personality of every celebration he photographs.
