As you see from above, Chris has been listening to music from an early age (thanks to Dad for this pic)! Technology has changed a bit since then, but Chris’s passion is as strong as ever after all these years in this profession.
Chris’s love for music began to broaden at age 13 when he began listening to MJ, New Order, and Def Lep, Sinatra, Motown, and 70’s rock/folk; but it wasn’t until college that he began to apply his extensive music knowledge into events. Chris began DJing in 1990 and while he spent the beginning of his career working for others to learn the trade, he quickly began noticing things his employers could have done better to make these events more distinctive, eloquent, and tasteful. Thus, in 1998, he ventured out on his own determined to change the industry one wedding at a time. He always believed that a wedding celebration should be way more than just an unprecedented party – it should also be a perfectly executed soiree.
Chris is now the most critically acclaimed Wedding DJ in Washington, DC; whereas Washingtonian Magazine has listed him as the Top Wedding DJ in DC for 9 years straight. Modern Bride Magazine also cited Chris’s ability to set a new standard for excellence and listed him as one of the Top Wedding DJs in The Country. The numerous additional accolades he has received are far more than we could list herein.
But it is not just the industry professionals who are raving. His former couples have said there are not enough superlatives to fully appreciate him. They all speak generously of his originality,
boundless passion, peerless wedding knowledge, unfathomable attention to detail, ingenious mixing coupled with song selections, flawless execution, and incomparable flexibility.
He also brings a unique mixing style to his events with the way his creative song sets are put
together. Whether he is playing some Stevie, Aretha, Michael, Journey, Prince, Biggie, Beyonce, Drake or Jason Aldean; the mixes and transitions will impress guests of all ages. Most importantly though, he believes that every couple is unique and their wedding music should reflect who they are as a couple – while also keeping the guests in mind. You can be certain the guests will notice.
Whether you are having an intimate 50 person at Woodend or Meadlowlark, or a 300 person
wedding at The Fairmont Hotel, he will tailor the music to create the vision you have for your
special day. While his 300,000+ song collection affords him instant access to anything, what sets him apart is that which you will not hear. Chris does not automatically play “YMCA”, “Chicken Dance”, or “Macarena” – unless specifically requested by you.
There will also be no cheesy ‘football stadium’ type introductions to get your crowd ‘hyped’ thus
drawing all the attention to the DJ. Instead, his overall approach with announcements is more on the side of classy and eloquent hence simple and informative – never too much but never too little!
And after 3000+ events, he now still wows his clients with his unsurpassed wedding knowledge,
beyond professional demeanor, hip and impeccable taste, sense of sophistication, his distinguished performing skills, and continued uncompromising evolving cutting vision of how to execute that perfect wedding. With his combination of wireless Bose speakers and ultramodern equipment, endless experience, and quintessential expression of musical talents; he has set himself at the pinnacle of wedding DJs in the entire US.
