Bandleader, Robert Sherman, is the backbone of the band, “King of the drums”, and has been, since ONYX’s first event. Also, to give any DJ a run for his money, there is NO ONE that can predict the perfect songs like he can. Helping to keep the band at the top of it’s industry, is ONYX’s famous frontline, Elliot “Smitty”, Ginny, Justin, and Drew. Smitty is the handsome baritone, with vocal talent that carries a unique ability to mimic the greats throughout time, while still creating a performance style of his own. Ginny is polished, and professional, with and electric personality, and one of the top WTA voices of all time. MC Justin is a youthful entertainer and percussionist, who is charming and charismatic throughout your party (and loved by all!). David is an outstanding musician with skills that range from keys to sax, vocals to sound man, not to mention, he is the general manager of Washington Talent so ONYX is always available to you!!

The talent doesn’t end there. Nick, arguably one of the top sax players in the DC area, sings and entertains, as well. Drew, the fresh, hot, and newest ONYX vocalist, is the man. Ladies love him, girls adore him, and you will eat him up! Fred, the energetic, and extremely talented guitarist, will have you begging for more; second to none; he rocks!! WOW! The band for Kimi’s wedding on Sunday was fantastic! Everyone commented how great they were. They loved the interaction on the floor and of course the gentleman with the sax was a huge hit. The speeches ran so long that I just wanted to say stop and let’s dance. I am sure my friends would still be dancing if the time hadn’t run out. I gave the name of ONYX to everyone so I hope they get in touch when they have a special occasion. Onyx recently played for our wedding reception on October 8th, 2011 at the Willard Intercontinential Hotel in DC. Their performance far surpassed anything that I could have dreamed of for our wedding reception. All of our guests danced the night away and loved interacting with the band members. They played all of the songs we requested and even learned new songs for some of our special dances. I am incredibly grateful for all of their efforts, the party would not have been as amazing as it was without them. I can’t even count the amount of guests who came up to me and said that was the best wedding band they have ever heard!

We had the band ONYX play our wedding and we couldn’t have made a better choice! They actually played my husbands bar mitzvah 13 years ago so when we got engaged we immediately checked to see if they were still together. They were and 3 of the members of the band were actually the same! Ginny and the gang rocked out ALL night long!! We spoke with Ginny on the phone and through e-mail several times the week before the wedding and she was very accommodating to our requests. They did everything we asked, including letting my 7 year old superstar drummer cousin play a song with them! Throughout the night they would check in with us to see if we wanted things done a certain way or if we should keep the music going, etc. We have received NUMEROUS compliments about our band and how much fun people had because of them! They are in the high price range for a band, but they are certainly worth every penny!! 5 out of 5!

Onyx was HANDS DOWN the best wedding band I have ever heard! People are still talking about the band at our wedding. The dance floor was packed the entire evening and I was dripping in sweat (not the greatest look for a bride, but I couldn’t stop dancing)!! They were also extremely easy to work with. I was a little nervous to hear them at my wedding since I never went to any of their open houses, so I had never heard them live. When I watched their promo video they were already on hold for another bride. I said I would book them right away and the other bride wasn’t ready to make a final decision so she removed her hold.
