We had a string quartet, though they offer many other options for ceremony music. They sounded beautiful and were easy to work with. There is not much contact with them throughout the process but if you ask for their music lists you may pick and choose the songs you would like to hear or suggest ones not on the list as well. We sent Marc a list of songs we really wanted to hear and he filled in the rest for us. The dining atmosphere was filled with classy and jazzy songs and the reception was filled with fun! Marc was well spoken, professional, experienced, and fun!

I used DJ Carroll Higgins from Washington Talent Agency for my 9/3/11 wedding, and I couldn’t have been more thrilled. He was a fantastic DJ, and everyone keeps telling me how fun our wedding was. In advance of our wedding, he had multiple phone calls (multi-hour) with us to give us advice (musical and otherwise), get our musical “wish list”, and to help us plan for a special dance act we were integrating into our reception. We had the band Encore at our wedding last week and they were absolutely fantastic!!! We booked them after they played at my cousin’s wedding a year ago and when I saw all of my aunts and uncles and parents, plus all of the “younger” crowd on the dance floor at the same time, I knew that I wanted them to play my wedding as well. Encore did SUCH a great job of getting everyone excited and out on the dance floor ALL NIGHT LONG, and they even learned our first dance song for us. Even though we had discussed having no impromptu performances beforehand, my husband’s grandma surprised us by wanting to sing a song and the band was totally ok with that as well. It was simply an awesome night! I think it helped that we had an awesome group of guests who wanted to dance and party too, but Encore totally got the crowd going and I can’t stop raving about them!!! I recommend them to anyone!

Our wedding was heavily dance focused and the dancing happened for 3 hours straight!

They were able to let loose in a big way thanks to Spectrum’s ability to rock NON-STOP!

Bandleader Ben Kaufman said, “Even though this event starts in the middle of the day, these people love to throw down; it’s one our best parties of the year”. WTA’s very own Jack Hartzman and the team from Washington Photo were on hand with green screen photography and dance floor candids…. it was truly an afternoon to be remembered. The band started with an LMFAO set including Party Rock Anthem and Sexy and I Know It, which instantly PACKED the dance floor. The people just couldn’t stop dancing until the band’s last note.

Thomas, grandson of Elizabeth Drabkin and the late Marvin Drabkin, nephew of David and Jane Drabkin, Louis and Judy Drabkin, Miriam and Allen Hirsch, Joseph Drabkin, Denise Drabkin, cousin of Aaron, Sarah, Ari, Jacob, and Matthew, adored son-in-law of Susannah and Richard Misci, and brother-in-law of Michael Misci.
 
In lieu of flowers, a donation to the MacCallun Thomas Scholarship Fund would be appreciated sent in care of Adam Stifel, 1425 P Street, NW, Apt #413, Washington, DC, 20005.

I am a special events coordinator for a local hospital and I have worked with and have known Washington Talent (WTA) for many years. Because of the close relationship that developed from working with (WTA) I knew I wanted them to be there for me on the most important day of my life, my wedding day!

BAND
As a professional event planner I worked with the band Millennium for several corporate events. This band will have your guests wanting more! They are high energy talented and will keep the crowd dancing. They play all genres of music. Travis is an exceptional EMCEE and lead vocalist. All band members are incredibly talented, approachable, and easy to work with and will assist you in any questions you have about the music selections. For my wedding they even learned a song for our “first dance”. It was absolutely beautiful and added a nice personal touch to our dance. On a personal note, when I planned my wedding the very first thing I checked before even booking the reception venue was making sure Millennium was available for my date. That’s how good they are. They will not disappoint.

VIDEO
Jeff Schofield is your go to guy for video needs. I’ve known Jeff for many years and I asked him to be there for my big day. He and his crew did a fantastic job capturing moments during the ceremony and reception that I otherwise would not have been able to capture.

After collecting footage they created a beautiful video of our wedding day. It’s a video that we will be able to treasure for many years. It tells the story of our wedding day and we can relive the emotions / memories of the day and share it with family and friends.

PHOTOGRAPHY
I think if there is an area of the planning process that the bride is most concerned with, other than her dress, it’s finding the right photographer. I was one of those brides that was searching for the photographer that would be the right fit for me and my fiancé. I searched, high and low, but there he was right under my nose the entire time. Jack Hartzman with WTA proved to be the photographer that was the perfect fit for me and my family. Not only did he capture precious moments of the day, but he is creative with his photography which sets him apart from other photographers. Also his partner and fellow lead photographer Monica works with him to design and layout the photo album and oh my god — they do amazing work!!!!!! The album tells a story from start to finish. My husband is currently serving overseas and they even organized a special video of the album for my husband (see album video at bottom of this page), just so he can share in this experience, as we will be apart for a year. Talk about going above and beyond…that’s what the WTA family is all about.

I was extremely fortunate….I had something special…a team of professionals (band, photographer, and videographer) that all know each other, trust and respect one another – and more importantly can anticipate one another’s moves. They work together, support one another and much like an orchestra create beautiful music together – in this case creating beautiful moments for you, the groom, your families and guests.

The best part is that it is not exclusive – you too can have this special dream team of vendors working for you to make your wedding the day the most memorable and happiest day of your life.

We had ONYX at our wedding on Saturday night and words can’t describe how AMAZING they were!! This incredible wedding band had the dance floor was packed from the minute we did our first dance until the end of the night. No one wanted the party to end! The band and all the singers had incredible energy and were out singing and dancing with the crowd all night (not in a cheesy way though). We’ve gotten tons of phone calls from our friends and family over the past few days telling us that our wedding was the most fun wedding they’ve ever been to and that is due in large part to ONYX and their phenomenal performance! They were worth every single penny!!

Ever since the wedding all we are hearing is about how incredible the band is. Strickland could not have been more flexible and accommodating. He worked with us in advance to tailor the schedule, music, and tone of the reception to our vision. He had the dance floor packed from the first song to the last. They played through the entire night without taking a break. Strickland took over the schedule/timeline to make sure that everything was taken care of from the first dances, to the toasts, to the cake cutting, and the bouquet toss. The singers were FANTASTIC!!! They got out on the dance floor and engaged the crowd. Chris’ personality and dance moves helped set the tone of the party and kept everyone going. They even learned a couple songs just for our special day. At the end of the night they had a terrific send off and I thought the building was going to collapse because they had 160 people jumping in unison. Afterwards, when I asked if they’d be willing to join us at a local pub for an after party drink, I was so touched when they obliged. They made the party and truly made us feel like they were part of our family. THANKS BLACK TIE!!!

The father-of-the-bride surprised Lisa when he sat in with Spectrum and sang the father/daughter dance, Sunshine on My Shoulder’s by John Denver.  On this tune, the guitar player Scott had the opportunity to break in Meredith’s gorgeous new Yamaha acoustic guitar.

The icing on the cake was a night coordinated flawlessly by the team at Plan-it Parties.  Everybody is excited to be working with Patti and her girls again at Union Station in just two weeks!
